As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, you'll begin to understand why the name translates to "endless plains" in the local language. Covering 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the park is a vast expanse of grasslands that stretch to the horizon, challenging your perception of distance. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, with over 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various species of antelopes. It's also a haven for big cats and large predators, where you may spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, making it the perfect place to witness iconic wildlife moments, like the famous river crossings often featured in documentaries.
